Supporting Young Communicators

Little Voices Oʻahu Keiki Speech Therapy is a mobile private practice providing speech therapy to children on the North Shore of Oʻahu and its surrounding areas.

At Little Voices Oʻahu, we are dedicated to building successful communicators by partnering with families every step of the way. Our goal is to empower parents and caregivers by teaching evidence-based strategies that help their child thrive on their unique communication journey.

About us

Services are provided in the child’s home or at locations in the community (e.g. daycare, school, library, park). Home/community-based services enable us to deliver therapy in a familiar and comfortable setting, train parents, caregivers and teachers, and offer opportunities for the child to apply skills in their everyday environment.

At Little Voices Oʻahu, we value parent/caregiver collaboration and expect a parent or caregiver to be involved in sessions. We believe parents and caregivers are their child’s best teacher and involving them in the therapeutic process is key to improving the child’s outcomes.

During sessions, you will learn evidence-based strategies and have opportunities to practice them with your child while being coached by the clinician, in order to help your child achieve his or her goals.

Research shows that coaching parents and/or caregivers to use evidence-based strategies, can lead to positive changes for the child as well as enhanced parent well-being.

Our Philosophy

We work with children of all ages with a variety of communication needs in the following areas and more:

  • Speech Sound Disorders - Difficulty pronouncing a specific speech sound or group of sounds.

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder - Communication challenges, particularly related to impaired social language.

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) - Use of gestures, manual signs, picture boards, and/or speech-generating devices to support communication.

Does my child need speech therapy?

Like all developmental skills and milestones, communication development can vary greatly. Every child develops uniquely, and may meet their milestones earlier or later compared to others.

Being familiar with developmental milestones can be helpful for parents and caregivers to know what to expect as their child grows, identify skills to work on, and know when to seek professional help.
